We provide a wide range of medical and surgical services for vitreoretinal disease, and I am sure you are familiar with these. Unfortunately, despite intense lobbying to the powers that be, we still cannot provide photodynamic therapy to patients with age-related macular disease.

Services include the following:

- intravitreal injections
- medical eye exams. Please note we do not perform regular 0scheduled eye exams (refractions), for this please contact your local optometrist
- laser treatment of the retina
- laser treatment for glaucoma
- laser treatment for diabetic eye disease
- laser treatment for certain types of macular degeneration

Surgery for:

- cataracts
- retinal detachment
- macular hole
- epiretinal membrane
- diabetic retinal disease
- vitreous hemorrhages
- other miscellaneous retinal and vitreous disorders

We provide treatment and management of glaucoma, iritis, scleritis, vein/artery occlusions, diabetic eye diseases, corneal abrasions, double vision, floaters, optic neuritis, uveitis and after-cataracts.
We do not see non emergency children under the age of 12 unless they have retinal diseases.
We do not perform surgery for pterygiums, strabismus,or ptosis. We attempt to see urgent patients immediately and urge all of you to emphasize to our booking staff whether patients are emergent or not, and we emphasize the need for conveying this to our booking staff. It is also very helpful if we know the type of problems patients are being referred for. If patients require elective laser treatments, these patients are better booked directly into the Ambulatory Care Unit. If urgent laser is required, for example for a retinal tear, then obviously we can see these patients on an emergency basis any day. At our Ambulatory Care Unit, elective blocks will be published on our schedule. The idea of going through this is to facilitate one-day patient visits and reduce the time that patients have to wait around prior to me treating them.

Sincerely,

Peter Hopp, MD
